Pho Kim has been family owned since June of 2013. Kim and Chef Tony (wife and husband) have been in the restaurant industry since 1990 when they partnered with Kim’s sister, Buu to open Pho Hung in SE Portland on 47th Avenue and Powell Street. Since then, they have helped start up numerous pho restaurants in Oregon, Texas, California and some parts of Vietnam as well. However, Kim and Chef Tony take pride in maintaining the Ma-and-Pop shop way of things, with Chef Tony making the broth himself and Kim greeting nearly every guest that comes through the doors. The two have remained just as passionate about the flavorful taste, and special cold-curing Vietnamese beef noodle soup as when it all began, back in 1990.
